Tomb Raider: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

6. Combat & Movement

Crystal Dynamics might have proven in previous Tomb Raider games that they're not exactly the best guys at mastering combat mechanics out there, but for the new game, they've gone back to the drawing board and come up with something that's functional and fun. Whether you're firing the bow or a gun, Lara moves around like silk and the aiming controls especially feel more refined than ever. As for general movement, it feels less restricted than in previous games; Lara seamlessly glides from one animation into the next, and though it's something of a trite statement to make, the whole thing just feels (and looks) a lot more like an Uncharted game. Given how successful those games have been, that's no mean feat nor a criticism of what Crystal Dynamics have achieved here.
