In any video game, one of the biggest mistakes players can make is not adapting to different conditions or different modes and this is true in Tony Hawk's.

Graffiti is the only multiplayer mode that is not just score based. Players need to trick on as many objects as they can with the competitor with the highest combo on each trick claiming the piece in their colour. The winner is the one who has the most objects at the end of two minutes.

While you still need to be able to score big to control an object you need to use as much of a level as you can.

Some of the levels in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 are huge, such as NY City and Philadelphia. In these levels, if you just stick to one area, it won't matter how many points you score as victory will be impossible.

Concentrate on completing combos that can stretch across the level even if your scores are lower. Some areas such as the hidden area in NY City have a huge number of objects, but many players won't go into these sections at all. Use the full level to your advantage and even with low scores you can rack up wins.
