Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Remaster - 10 Features You NEED To Know
1. Limited Changes To Excellent Gameplay
When a game is remastered or remade the key for fans is to be able to play as they remember doing when the original title was released.
Tony Hawk's HD and THPS5 showed that if you try to update things it can go horribly wrong. The great news is that the gameplay itself is going to virtually identically to the first two games.
It has been confirmed the only changes will be to include some tricks and special moves which were added later in the series. This includes the revert, which came in on THPS3 but was vital to continuing big combos. Players of the series will be fine with this, but the news that the core gameplay will stay the same is the best thing they could have done.
By doing it this way people will be able to play the games nearly exactly as they did with the original titles, but with subtle changes to enhance that experience which people loved.
The other area that has been highlighted was that gamers will be able to play with either the d-pad or the analogue sticks, meaning old school and new school players should be satisfied.
The news this week was massive for everyone in gaming, especially for those who loved the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. I know I can't wait to drop back into this brilliant franchise in September.
