TYOA: 8 Gaming Dialogue Choices That BETRAYED You

1. "Shall We Explain Copy?" - Kirby Super Star

And finally we have an act of betrayal that seems less malicious or trolling in nature than the developers simply screwing up and failing to QC their oversight.

At the start of the SNES classic Kirby Super Star, a menu will ask players if this is their first time playing and if they would like to have Kirby's "copy" ability explained to them.

And while it's certainly useful to have the controls explained the first time you're playing, if this ain't your first rodeo you'll naturally just want to skip the tutorial altogether.

Yet if you select the "No" option, the game will just throw up the tutorial anyway. What the hell, sure.

But again, this appears to be less a case of Nintendo messing with players, Zelda-style, than a mere programming goof on the part of the developers, with somebody accidentally assigning the "No" text to the "Yes" option.

This rigmarole only steals a few seconds of your life in the grand scheme of things, but that still somehow doesn't make it much less annoying.
