TYOA: 8 Great Video Games RUINED By Their Final Level

6. Corona Mountain - Super Mario Sunshine

Super Mario Sunshine may be one of the greatest Mario games of all time, but hoo boy it sure arrives at one deflating popcorn fart of a final level with the dreaded Corona Mountain.

The level kicks off with players needing to fly past a series of spiked and flaming platforms, before hopping into a boat for a perilous lava ride, made worse by the absolutely atrocious handling.

After that you'll need to rocket-jump your way across a series of cloud platforms before finally taking on the Big Bad himself, Bowser.

As fun as it could've been fighting Bowser while he sloshes around in a hot tub, there's nothing more to it than simply performing Mario's Atmospheric Re-entry move on each of the tips of the tub, bringing one of the naffest Mario levels to a fitting shoulder-shrug of a conclusion.

As superb as Mario Sunshine is leading up to this, Corona Mountain pulls off the dual disappointment of being both tremendously annoying and thunderously boring.
