Warhammer 40K: 10 Worst Things The Imperium Has Ever Done
2. Created A Cybernetic Revolution
In the early days of technological advancement for humanity, several weapons and technological marvels were developed at an incredible pace allowing for humans to create all sorts of advanced cities and weapons.
One of the biggest technological marvels was the creation and use of the "men of metal" an army of advanced AI-run humanoids that helped conquer the Milky Way without too many human casualties.
But, as can be expected whenever humans create any form of AI the robots revolted against humanity and became super-intelligent, ending the age of technology. Some of the most dangerous robots known, as mechanivores, were so powerful they could lift entire continents. Yet these were not nearly as bad as "Sun-Snuffers" which were the size of Saturn's rings and could literally devour stars.
Humanity had grown too confident in their technology and gave their machines to much power. And millions paid the price for Humanity's rushed galactic conquest.
Now there are no smart robots in the Imperium. Instead, any smart machines are actually cyborgs twisting human bodies as controllable computers, becoming horrific machine slaves that might actually be worse off than the fully robotic armies before them.
