Ooooh this is a real two sides of the same coin deal with this one. Fans were promised a unique and exciting advancement for the series but delivered what was, in many ways just Advanced Warfare DLC. Your plot tried way too hard to be clever but was about as well received as a picture of your nan naked.
So many plot wrinkles.
However the zombies mode? My god man, it was outstanding! Some of the best maps ever, EIGHT legendary maps brought back and with all of the kinks worked out?! Amazing!
In fact it's so good that we should probably just forget zombies exists after this point in time....because the devs certainly did.
