5. Steve Austin on the Cross
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSUvaj_uh5o Now, before I begin, I would like to state that I am not exactly religious. However, I do like to respect the beliefs of all religions, and would do absolutely nothing to insult their right of religious freedom. It doesn't appear that Vince McMahon shares my approach. The Ministry was a faction which drew a great deal of controversy. Personally, the idea that Mark Calaway had really believed that he had the powers of the Undertaker was an intelligent angle in this new era of reality-based storylines. It also produced a great deal of watchable segments and matches, and brought about the Undertaker's best entrance theme in his long and legendary career. Nonetheless, a great deal of what they did was quite disturbing. In many cases that was the intention, but that doesn't excuse incidents such as the kidnapping of Stephanie McMahon, and the moment being discussed here - the 'crucifixion' of Stone Cold Steve Austin. A similar angle involving Raven and the Sandman draw mass disapproval in ECW, so it only stands to reason that the WWE should draw the same ire. Even if you do feel that Christianity is not correct, those that do would not have taken to kindly to having the fate of Christ portrayed by the WWE. Just ask Mel Gibson.
