The Rated R Superstar made one of the biggest returns in Rumble history in 2010. Edge suffered a torn Achilles tendon in a match against Jeff Hardy and later underwent surgery that was meant to keep him our for almost a year. It was reported that he could be out of action for up to a year. During the 11-time world champion's absence, Chris Jericho replaced him in the team with Big Show (Jeri-Show) and began to mock the injury he suffered. After just eight months on the shelf Edge returned at the 2010 Rumble at number 29, setting his sights straight on Jericho. Y2J was sent flying over the top rope almost immediately before Edge and Messrs Batista and Cena were the final three remaining. Cena give The Animal the slip to send him over the top rope before the pair stared at each other for a while. Edge went to surprise the leader of the Cenation with an unsighted elimination but was thwarted. Cena then went for the elimination only for Edge to reverse and claim his first, and only, Rumble win. Edge would go on to WrestleMania XXVI and unsuccessfully challenge Jericho for SmackDown's World Heavyweight Championship.
