A success of WWE 2K14 was its marketing campaign which featured wrestling legend The Ultimate Warrior. With WWE fans having not seen Warrior in a generation, the 2K14 commercials managed to stir considerable interest in the game. He also came as an exclusive pre-order bonus character, again a smart way to secure sales. It's a formula which 2K is keen to repeat this year and we can confirm that WCW icon Sting is 2K15's pre-order bonus and marketing 'legend' figurehead. It's an inspired piece of booking from 2K. Sting has a renowned legacy amongst wrestling circles, but is remarkable for having achieved his fame without ever working in WWE. That adds considerable lure to seeing him in WWE video game against WWE talents. It also likely means he will finally get around to joining and working in WWE properly later this year. Sting will fill the role occupied by the likes of Brock Lesnar, Mike Tyson and Warrior in past incarnations of the video game franchise. There is currently a Sting video commercial being filmed to support the WWE 2K15 marketing campaign, so expect to see and hear a lot him over the next few months.
