All you need to do is look at how awkward the modern day Hell in a Cell matches are to see that WWE doesn't rank them as highly as they once did.
Obviously, WWE have tied their own hands since becoming a publicly traded company. They can't upset the shareholders and sponsors so more often than not, they play things safe.
This is a far cry from the days of the Attitude Era which was full of risqué characters, story lines and matches.
Could you see someone falling from the top of the titantron like Shame McMahon in today's product? No, me neither.
Despite this lack of gore on television WWE's premier game, 2K15, more than makes up for the lack of foreign objects, blood and the like.
You just need to make sure that you are aware. Blood isn't turned on when you first start playing the game while most of what you are about to see isn't openly advertised.
WWE couldn't go one way on television and then advertise a game that completely goes against their morals. Imagine the complaints.
