Xbox 720 "Leak": Microsoft DID Own The Document

Turns out that 56-page document, that highlighted a business plan for the next generation, was actually legit.

When the rumored Xbox 720 document leak made it's way to the internet many were surely skeptical about the legitimate nature of the contents. Appearing extremely professional and littered with information that would seem to bring credibility to the document lent itself to people believing the contents. However you viewed the document, whether real or fake, it turns out that the 56-page document has been asked to be removed from the Czech Republic website Ihned.cz, for copyright infringement which confirms Microsoft's ownership. Here's the official takedown notice via Polygon:

Microsoft has received information that the domain listed above, which appears to be on servers under your control, is offering unlicensed copies of, or is engaged in other unauthorized activities relating to copyrighted works published by Microsoft.1. Identification of copyrighted works:Copyrighted work(s):IEB RoadmapCopyright owner:Microsoft Corporation2. Copyright infringing material or activity found at the following location(s):xxxxxxxxxxx-XBox-720-9-24-Checkpoint-Draft-1.pptx
Leak confirmed. The newly found evidence provides truth to the contents of the document yet, it doesn't imply that all of the information contained within will be true now. The document highlights the reasons why the Xbox 720 is needed to launch in 2013, and it's not unreasonable to believe that Microsoft could very well have a different plan on how they introduce the 720 into the marketplace. The leaked document, upon further analysis, seems to be more of a "possibilities" presentation. It offers up the ideas of why the 720 is needed, what the biggest competition is against it, and the features that Microsoft should consider when designing the system. Yet, there's no denying that Microsoft is certainly following some of the steps that will place them in a position to launch the 720 according to the document. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think that two year old information will still be relevant, or are we all just speculating far too much? Stay tuned for more information, and a full breakdown of what we think the leaked document means. Source: CVG
