Xbox Game Pass: 10 Essential 360 & Xbox Games You Must Play
7. Dead Space
One of the best new Horror IPs of its generation, even if the quality descended into a pit across its subsequent entries, Dead Space is a real treat for horror fans.
You play Isaac Clarke, an engineer, who is part of a team sent to investigate the 'planet cracker' mining ship the USG Ishimura after it goes silent. The less said about the plot, the better, frankly, especially if you have never played the game before (in which case, you are in for a treat).
The design of Dead Space is exquisite, especially its HUDlessness, which matches the striped down, claustrophobic horror of exploring the Ishimura. As with all Horror games, it is best played loud and in the dark if you can stomach it.
That it is one of the best backwards compatible titles on Game Pass should be obvious, insofar as the game itself is regularly sited as one of the finest horror titles made.
All three Dead Space games, in fact, are available on Game Pass, though the first is the finest by far.
