Xbox One: 10 Big Changes That Would Actually Make It Worth Buying

6. Longer Kinect €˜Listening€™ Time

The Xbox One Kinect works by €˜perking up€™ when you say its name, then turning off its ears after 15 seconds or so. Unfortunately given its finicky nature, you€™ll say a command, it won€™t hear you, you€™ll say the command again and about halfway through the second try it will stop listening, turning the previously green (and speakable) menu items back to white. Requiring you to - yet again - say the command, but with "Xbox" in front of it. What€™s strange is that the Kinect *has* a microphone, and it surely knows noises are being made and a menu is loaded. To stop listening mid-command seems like an oversight that could be corrected via some audio recognition voodoo and an adjustable slider to denote how long it listens before stopping.
