Xbox One: 5 Reasons To Buy It Over PS4

Xbox-One-Console As the eighth generation console war gets on its way, many people have been quite dismissive towards the Xbox One console. During its announcement, Microsoft outlined several controversial policies, restrictions and a whopping launch price of $499. Add to that the fact that the competition -- Sony's PS4 -- will not only be free of these disadvantages, but will also launch at a cheaper price of $399, and you have your answer as to why many gamers including those of the Xbox community are staying clear of the Xbox One. However, despite the massive dark cloud hovering over the Xbox One, there is a silver lining to be found here. Due to recent changes in the Xbox One's development along with a closer analysis in its reaming features, it has been revealed that the console is worth its price after all. For those who think they know which console to buy this generation, they should reconsider their choices after reading this. Here are five reasons to buy the Xbox One....

5. No More DRM Policies

Xbox-One-Eighty Back in May, Microsoft stunned the world when they revealed the Xbox One for the first time. But it wasn't the console's sleek black look, or its high end PC specs, or even its ability to switch between different activities simultaneously in the UI (hence its name) that left gamers dumbfounded. It was the DRM-like polices that Microsoft planned to enforce upon the console's owners. As usual, Microsoft is a company that tends to make decisions for its consumers rather than let them choose what they really want, and the Xbox brand is no exception. Xbox One users were required to verify their offline gaming with an online verification every 24 hours. User were also prohibited from trading in used games at launch and would have to pay $50 extra for them at Gamestop and other second-hand retailers. As for borrowing those games, users can only lend them to a friend once since their ownership rights go along for the ride, preventing any reversals in ownership afterward. Given Microsoft's total disregard for consumer rights, and the fact that its competitor Sony was quick to take advantage at E3 -- pointing out that its console, the PS4 didn't share any of those policies -- its not hard to imagine that the lines at the Xbox One's retail outlets would be really short if not empty on launch day as a result. Or wouldn't they? Fortunately however, Microsoft has recently come to their senses and have decided to drop all of these policies. That's right. No online verification every 24 hours and no restrictions, hefty prices or used games trad-in and/or ownership. Of course, many claim that the damage has been done especially given Sony's slick attacks on Microsoft. But the policy changes sure make owning an Xbox One that less of a pain in the ass doesn't it?
