Xbox One Vs PS4: Head To Head In 10 Key Areas

8. Installing Games

Mark Cerny Ps4 It€™s already been mentioned in this article but this generation has some incredibly meaty games in terms of data size. Across both consoles, Ryse, Killzone, NBA 2K14, and more have gargantuan mandatory install sizes surpassing the 40GB mark. Prior to both console launches, we really had no idea how this would function, other than that you would only have to install a fraction of the game before being able to jump in. As someone who has played multiple games across both consoles, I can tell you that there is a massive difference between how each OS multi-tasks. PS4 games require practically no waiting time before playing. You can pop Killzone in and begin playing within 2 minutes. Xbox One games however are a crapshoot; Ryse took around 5 minutes while Dead Rising 3 took roughly 15 minutes! The bottom line is that every time I have inserted or downloaded a Playstation 4 game, I was into the game swiftly afterwards.
