3. Starfield And Elder Scrolls VI Are The First Two Confirmed "Next-Gen" Titles
The affable man that is Todd Howard strolled on stage at this year's E3 to break the news RPG lovers the world over had been waiting oh so long to hear. Elder Scrolls VI is currently in the earliest stages of development, and it's likely to stay that way until Bethesda's brand-spanking new IP - Starfield - lands in the future.
The studio's secret project up until now has, of course, been Fallout 76, but with work on the pseudo side sequel coming to an end shortly, it's the presumption that Starfield will be next in line to receive Bethesda's full attention, but even then, it'll be at least a couple of years before its first fresh new IP since god knows when will arrive, leaving ESO VI even further from release.
Referring to both as "next-gen" adventures at Bethesda's E3 briefing, Howard has inadvertently cemented them as the first to be so and, if nothing else, helps to establish a loose timeline for when the public can expect Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 to arrive.
Starfield won't be ready to launch next year, but 2020? That lines up well with what certain industry analysts are predicting...
