Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - 10 Subtly Genius Easter Eggs You Totally Missed

7. Link's Literal Awakening (And More)

Zelda Breath Of The Wild

The tiniest of the tiny references, but one that just had to be intentional. One of the very first things Zelda says to you in Breath of the Wild is 'Wake up, Link', connoting the full game release, 1993's Link's Awakening on Game Boy Colour.

More overtly ("Wake up" is the most natural thing to say, to be fair), are a number of locations inside Breath of the Wild being named after those from the same game. There's Mabe Village, Koholit Rock (a riff on Koholint Island), Goponga Island (taken from Goponga Swamp), Toronbo Beach (from Toronbo Shores) and Tal Tal Peak, taken from Tal Tal Heights.

Phew!
