Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - 10 Subtly Genius Easter Eggs You Totally Missed
6. Satoru Iwata Will Live Forever
In one of the most heartfelt and touching immortalisations of a genuinely legendary game developer, Nintendo have included the character of Botrick as a nod to Satoru Iwata, who sadly passed away in 2015.
Found at the Outskirts Stable just after you leave the Great Plateau, Botrick is far more active than most other NPCs. Atop granting advice and being a very positive presence, you can follow him on a variety of loops across Hyrule, battling enemies together as you go. Best of all, continue speaking to him and he'll tell you of Satori Mountain (a riff on his forename), which if you follow up on, results in discovering a gorgeous expanse filled with a cherry blossom tree, plenty of petals, a campsite and the 'Lord of the Mountain', an almost Studio Ghibli-esque mythical being you can tame and ride.
Botrick's animations and priorities are random yet peaceful, ostensibly giving the impression he's living out another 'life' inside Breath of the Wild, forevermore.
Good job, Nintendo.
