10 Horror Movie Plot Twists EVERYONE Guessed

2017's Life is a fairly by-the-numbers Alien knock-off which sees the team of an international space station under attack from a newly discovered life-form, which has been named Calvin. This malevolent alien works its way through the crew until only two are left - Dr Miranda North (Rebecca Ferguson) and Dr David Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal). 

David decides to sacrifice himself by taking Calvin in an escape pod and piloting it into deep space, while Miranda returns to earth to warn them about the dangers of this new life-form. Unfortunately, this goes terribly wrong - Calvin's pod gets down to earth, while poor Miranda is sent helplessly hurtling into deep space. 

This bleak ending worked to a degree, and it's one of the very few things in the movie that people have remembered, but it was also easy to see coming. The way that the interior of the earthbound pod wasn't shown until being discovered by some unsuspecting fishermen indicated that the film was hiding something from viewers, and plenty of other films have done this kind of switcheroo plot twist, so it was easy enough to guess.
