10 Horror Movie Trilogies That Have The WORST Endings
9. The Addams Family
The Addams Family started way back in the 1930s, but for most of us who grew up singing rhymes about Uncle Fester's flatulence, the kooky clan really took a grip of pop culture in the '90s.
The 1992 horror comedy rounded up Anjelica Huston (Morticia), Raul Julia (Gomez) and Christopher Lloyd (Fester) in their prime, and introduced us to the goth icon Christina Ricci in her breakout role as Wednesday Addams. Its sequel, The Addams Family Values, served up more of the same, but this time with an even darker edge and a brilliant subplot with Wednesday and brother Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) at summer camp, taking on future Buffy star Mercedes McNab's bratty pre-teen Amanda Buckman.
However, with the third film - Addams Family Reunion - the wheels well and truly came off. Julia had died following the second film and, without him, all of the cast bar Carel Struycken and Christopher Hart's hand refused to return. Despite plugging a habitually high-energy Tim Curry into the Gomez role, and assembling a facsimile cast, the film failed on every front. The production was cheap, the script shaky and sending the gang to a bright, sunny country club for a family reunion is the last place we wanted to see this trilogy end.
