10 Horror Movie Twists We All Saw Coming

5. "Those Aren't Your Grandparents" - The Visit

Ever since The Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan has garnered a reputation for ending his movies with a mind-boggling rug-pull. As such, moviegoers are vigilant while watching Shyamalan's work, hoping to surmise the twist.

Sadly, it doesn't take a genius to work out how The Visit is going to end. The found-footage feature opens with siblings Becca and Tyler visiting their grandparents for the first time. When Nana and Pop Pop start displaying erratic behaviour, Becca and Tyler suspect the pair are harbouring a dark secret.

In the end, the kids learn the elderly couple are escaped mental patients who've killed the grandparents and have been posing as them ever since.

However, it was obvious these imposters weren't who they said they were. The "grandparents" are never around Becca and Tyler every time they Skype their mother; the one person who could identify them. When Nana "accidentally" smears the laptop's camera with paste, it's clear she's trying to keep her identity hidden.

If the children didn't have access to a computer and could only contact their mother on a regular phone, this twist wouldn't have been so apparent.
