7. William Schenk - Spiral: From The Book Of Saw

In Chris Rock's self-produced Saw spin-off, Detective Zeke Banks and his partner, William Schenk, are tasked with taking down a Jigsaw copycat killer who's targeting cops.

In the third act, Zeke learns Schenk is behind it all. Unlike his predecessor, Schenk isn't inspired by some warped philosophy to rehabilitate people. Instead, he's driven purely by revenge. When he was a child, Schenk saw his father being gunned down by dirty cops, who were then protected by Zeke's father, Chief Marcus.

After revealing Marcus inside an elaborate trap, Schenk asks Zeke to choose between killing him or rescuing his father.

Although Zeke tries to save his dad, everything falls apart when a SWAT team enters and shoots Marcus dead, believing him to be armed. As Zeke cradles his dad's body, Schenk is given enough time to escape and plan his next killing spree.

Schenk may not be as compelling as the original Jigsaw, but he proves to be more efficient in some ways. Not only did he slaughter everyone he set out to, he totally got away with it. And since the Saw franchise has moved away from this storyline, it looks like Schenk will never see justice for his crimes.
