It's certainly not uncommon for slasher villains to have their own signature weapons. Leatherface had his chainsaw, Freddy Krueger had his finger knives, and of course Jason Voorhees is largely associated with his gigantic machete. However, that's not to say that these were all the killers used.

One of the most infamous kills in the Friday the 13th franchise, and the first that Jason makes on screen, is when he stabs Alice Hardy (Adrienne King) in the side of the head with an ice pick, but by seven films in, things had to get a little more creative.

No one wants to see exactly the same things throughout a long-running series, and while Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood was lightyears away from the height of the franchise, it did at least provide a clever kill with a unique weapon, potentially even fuelling a new fear at the same time.

A tent is not exactly Fort Knox to a madman with a machete, and hiding in a sleeping bag isn't going to do much either. But Jason (Kane Hodder) dragging the bag with Jane (Staci Greason) in it, and instantly killing her by swinging her off a tree, was completely shocking and wince-inducing. This surely changed how some people felt about camping in the woods.
