2. Alien Vs Predator

Ever since the Alien vs. Predator comic debuted in 1989, horror fans have been pining to see the Xenomorphs and the Yautjas mauling each other's faces off on the big screen. After countless false starts, a film adaptation hit theatres in 2004.

In this sci-fi crossover, explorers uncover an Antarctic pyramid where Predators are hunting Xenomorphs as part of a ritual. At first, the Predators see humans as incubators to spawn new Xenomorphs, but when a Xenomorph Queen risks destroying everything the Predators built, one of the mandibled beasts, Scar, partners up with mountaineering guide Lex to exterminate that threat.

Watching a Predator buddying up with a human is strange, but it works for the most part. After all, the Predators aren't evil, but proud hunters who will do anything to preserve their culture, even if it means allying with their prey.

There are a few creative scenes involving the pair's partnership, like when Scar shows Lex how to use a Xenomorph's head as a shield, demonstrating that it's resistant to their acidic blood. Without a single word being uttered, this interaction sells the duo's bond.

After the Queen is supposedly defeated, Scar brands Lex to commemorate their victory and show his respect.

Though this alliance could've been absurd, it's arguably the movie's biggest highlight.
