28 Years Later ends with teenager Spike being taken under the wing by professional Infected-hunter Sir Jimmy Crystal. Unfortunately, it's apparent soon after that Spike was safer fighting the Infected alone.

In 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, it's revealed that Sir Jimmy is a Satanic cult leader who manipulates his fellow Jimmys into torturing, skinning, and murdering anybody they find.

Spike wants nothing to do with Sir Jimmy, but he's given little choice, as if he runs, the Jimmys will capture and execute him. And while Spike doesn't take part in the ritual killings, he's powerless to stop them.

Interestingly, Spike isn't the only hero Sir Jimmy coerces to work with him. After encountering a GP, Ian Kelson, Sir Jimmy convinces Kelson to pose as Satan to his group to empower their beliefs. Knowing he'll be slaughtered if he turns Sir Jimmy down, Ian accepts the unusual request.

But after spotting Spike (who Ian knew from events in the previous movie), the good doctor exposes Sir Jimmy as a fraud.

Sir Jimmy is killed soon after, but Ian's intervention gives Spike the opening to flee and leads to the end of the Jimmy cult.
