The sole survivor of Wolf Creek is poor Ben (Nathan Phillips), who escapes into the outback following his encounter with unhinged serial killer Mick Taylor (John Jarratt), only to be arrested and investigated for the disappearance of Mick's victims Liz (Cassandra Magrath) and Kristy (Kestie Morassi).
A closing title card reveals that Ben was cleared of suspicion in their disappearances after four months in police custody, but the wider implications for Ben's future are absolutely horrendous.
The Wolf Creek TV series makes it clear that Ben spiralled mentally following his encounter with Mick, but it gets even worse than that when you consider the state of the world today.
True crime sleuths will be all over this case and, in their tireless pursuit for clicks, almost certainly hassle Ben with accusations that he killed Liz and Kristy until his dying day.
This guy is never going to get even a single day of peace, is he?
