20 Horror Movie Endings Way Worse Than You Think
13. Bring Her Back
Because the horrifyingly sad glimpse of Sally Hawkins cradling her daughter's corpse isn't enough of a bum note for Bring Her Back to end on, we're then left to consider what will be left of our deeply troubled survivors.
For one there's poor Piper (Sora Wong), who manages to escape Laura's (Sally Hawkins) murderous clutches, yet despite being rescued she ends the story totally and utterly alone, given that her her stepbrother Andy (Billy Barratt), her only apparent familial link left, is killed by Laura.
It isn't easy to have much faith that the social welfare system will do a particularly good job taking care of Piper, a blind and evidently deeply traumatised girl, but here's hoping.
And this is without even getting into Laura's other foster child, Connor (Jonah Wren Phillips), who is finally freed from her demonic possession at the end, but given that he's straight up eaten somebody and cut up his teeth with a knife while possessed, he's clearly never going to be the same.
