20 Horror Movie Endings Way Worse Than You Think
14. The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
The surprisingly sturdy 2006 remake of The Hills Have Eyes ends with Doug (Aaron Stanford), his baby daughter Catherine (Maisie Camilleri Preziosi), and Brenda (Emilie de Ravin) and Bobby (Dan Byrd) seemingly surviving the cannibalistic mutant onslaught.
Except, these guys are now stuck in the middle of the desert, likely dozens of miles from civilisation, with no food or water and no means of seeking shade, while caring for an extremely vulnerable infant.
But if it can be taken at face value, the companion comic The Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning reveals that the group had far worse than dehydration to worry about.
Doug ends up splitting up from Brenda and Bobby and is captured by the villain from The Hills Have Eyes 2, Papa Hades (Michael Bailey Smith), who promptly executes him.
As for baby Catherine? She's last seen being surrounded by wolves, the implications of which are basically unthinkable.
Now the canonicity of this comic is technically ambiguous, but it's an official piece of franchise storytelling all the same, so do with it what you will.
