9. In A Violent Nature 2
Love it or hate it, In a Violent Nature is one of the most distinctive and unforgettable slasher films of the past decade, being basically a "slow cinema" riff on a typical Friday the 13th knock-off.
Writer-director Chris Nash's bold execution led to a Sundance premiere, positive reviews, and an impressive $4.6 million at the box office, enough that Nash confirmed a sequel was in development in July 2024.
We know absolutely nothing about the shape that In A Violent Nature 2 will take, but presumably it'll go the usual slasher sequel route of dusting original antagonist Johnny (Ry Barrett) off for another go-around, albeit through a disarmingly arthouse lens.
Production was originally slated to begin last September, though we've not heard anything since, so we'll have to wait and see if the sequel still makes its projected 2026 bow.
In A Violent Nature 2 is expected to release sometime in 2026.
