Sci-fi horror film Circle was released in 2015 to relatively little fanfare, but a few months later it blew up after landing on Netflix.
Per the nature of its deliciously twisted premise - where 50 strangers wake up in a room and are killed off one-by-one - the film has been regularly discussed on social media ever since, even as few ever expected a sequel to be produced. In June 2024, a sequel entitled Circles was unexpectedly announced, and last June it was revealed that shooting was underway, with Dutch filmmaker Niels Bourgonje at the helm.
Though we don't know a whole lot about the follow-up, the brief synopsis reveals that it picks up 18 years after the original film, with the survivors of the alien invasion teased at the end of the original facing off against a new threat.
Given that filming took place roughly a year ago, it'd be pretty damn surprising if Circles wasn't with us by the end of the year.
