14. Grave Encounters Reboot

Grave Encounters has become quite the cult fave found footage film, but was also a sizable commercial success during its original 2011 theatrical release, grossing over $5 million on a mere $120,000 budget.

The 2012 sequel, though largely panned by critics, grossed an even more impressive $8.2 million against a $1.4 million price tag, and while Grave Encounters 3 was announced in 2015, it ultimately never materialised.

But back in September, a reboot was announced with genre veteran Justin Long set to star and produce alongside his wife Kate Bosworth.

The pair will also produce with The Vicious Brothers, who wrote and directed the original Grave Encounters and penned the first sequel.

Though we know little else about this reboot, Long and Bosworth's statement says that they intend to "modernise the concept into a cinematic experience," seeming to suggest it's being made for a wider theatrical market rather than streaming.

Whether it'll stick to the original concept - in which a group of paranormal investigators lock themselves inside an apparently haunted psychiatric hospital - remains to be seen.
