20 Horror Movies That Were JUST Announced

13. Five Nights At Freddy's 3

Now to be clear, Five Nights at Freddy's 3 hasn't actually been officially confirmed by Universal yet, but producer Jason Blum stated before the second film's release that a third would absolutely get made if the second succeeded at the box office.

And to say that it's done that is quite the understatement indeed, given that Five Nights at Freddy's 2 grossed more than $200 million worldwide after just three weekends on release, in turn quadrupling its $51 million budget.

That's a superb result any way you slice it, to say nothing of the additional revenues it'll rake in on streaming, ensuring that Five Nights at Freddy's 3 will assuredly be a top priority for Blumhouse and Universal.

Insider reports indicate that work has already begun on the third film, with an aim to shoot it as soon as late summer, ensuring it'll definitely be ready for a late 2027 release.

With all this in mind, it's just a matter of time before Universal officially greenlights the threequel with a set-in-stone release date.
