20 Most WTF Moments From 2025 Horror Movies

16. The Pale Horseman - The Monkey

The first of two Oz Perkins movies on this list is The Monkey, a categorically mental movie about a cursed wind-up toy monkey with a penchant for horribly killing someone whenever its key gets turned.

At the end, an enraged Bill (Theo James) attempts to force the monkey to drum without winding the key in order to kill his twin brother Hal (James), and - shocker - the monkey doesn't like this one bit.

It responds by frantically drumming on its own, causing a basically apocalyptic level of destruction throughout the town, killing untold numbers of locals, and finally ending with Bill by decapitating him with a propelled bowling ball.

In the final scene, Hal and his son Petey (Colin O'Brien) then drive through the remnants of the town, vowing to be custodians of the monkey and stop anyone else from ever turning its key. And because this apparently isn't WTF enough, at that moment they cross paths with a pale man riding a horse - as in, the Pale Horseman of the Apocalypse, get it?
