2. The Low Body Count - Primate
Primate is the answer to the question we've all been asking for years - "What if someone made a Friday the 13th movie but with a rabid chimp standing in for Jason?"
It's a whole ton of sicko fun, though there's one big disappointment - the frustratingly modest body count.
All in all about a half-dozen folk are dispatched by violent primate Ben throughout the movie, but filmmaker Johannes Roberts comes up with a sly way to beef up that body count and then... does nothing with it.
One of the film's subplots involves two college-age guys, Drew (Charlie Mann) and Brad (Tienne Simon), rocking up at Lucy's (Johnny Sequoyah) home to party before being attacked and killed by Ben.
But honestly, why limit this sequence to two people? Why not have a gang of like six frat-bros show up in a party bus and then have Ben dismantle them one-by-one?
It would've been an easy way to raise the body count in a film largely set within an isolated, walled-off location, yet Roberts instead kept things more disappointingly reined-in. Still a fun movie, though.
