7. Chris Elliott's Barely In It - Scary Movie

The sixth Scary Movie was every bit the low-brow spoof fans of the franchise expected, and save for a few genuine laughs, largely settled for picking low-hanging comedic fruit.

One of the most inspired gags in the marketing, however, saw the great Chris Elliott reprise his role as Hanson from Scary Movie 2, now known as "Shorthand" - an obvious parody of Longlegs.

However, Elliott ends up appearing in the main movie for one brief scene where he gets a couple of lines, with another sequence being confined to the middle of the credits, after much of the audience will have presumably already headed home.

Considering this was one of the film's few genuinely inspired parodies on paper, it's maddening that most of Elliott's role was seemingly left on the cutting floor for some reason.

As large portions of the film were reworked in April, just two months before release, it's entirely possible Elliott was a casualty of this creative rejigging. What a waste, though.
