20 Recent Horror Movies That Made ONE Huge Mistake

Given that Netflix's new sci-fi horror film The Last House has a 112-minute runtime, you'd be right to assume it gives its story a decent amount of breathing room.

But this is one of the most haphazardly, hurriedly edited major movies released in quite some time, director Louis Leterrier rushing from sequence to sequence without giving even the most basic character moments more than a second or two to breathe.

This ultimately tramples over not only the basic characterisation but also the otherwise solid performances from Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, while additionally undermining any attempt to muster genuine suspense.

The Last House certainly rocks a compelling setup, but from the end result it's easy to assume that Netflix advised Leterrier to "tighten" his edit, resulting in a film that's frantic to a fault.

And if you want to be even less generous about it, perhaps the film was sliced to ribbons to accommodate our ever-wavering attention spans. Either way, not good.
