20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Made PERFECT Casting Choices

18. Maika Monroe - Victorian Psycho

Victorian Psycho Maika Monroe
Bleecker Street

Few actors from the past decade-plus have made more of a splash in horror than the brilliant Maika Monroe, typified by her especially brilliant work in the likes of The Guest, It Follows, Villains, and Longlegs. And next up, we'll see her in Victorian Psycho, a darkly amusing horror romp where she stars as an "eccentric" governess, Winifred Notty, who struggles to contain her murderous urges while working at a gothic manor in the mid-19th century.

If you don't think this is a perfect part for Monroe, just check out the trailer, which shows her demonstrating the full force of her underappreciated, totally deranged comedic chops.

Margaret Qualley was actually originally cast in the role, but it's frankly tough to picture anyone but Monroe in the part after seeing the trailer - especially with her rocking one hell of a convincing British RP accent.

Even mixed reviews from the film's Cannes premiere have widely praised Monroe's work here, so it's certainly one to look forward to.
