20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Made PERFECT Casting Choices

19. Aaron Taylor-Johnson - Werwulf

Nosferatu Aaron Taylor Johnson
Universal

Werwulf is the new film from the great Robert Eggers and will star Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the central character afflicted with lycanthropy and who spends his time prowling the countryside in 13th-century England.

For starters, Johnson and Eggers made for spirited collaborators on the director's previous film Nosferatu, and as Johnson will be sliding into a lead role here, he's presumably going to get even more to do. Eggers has proven himself extremely adept at casting in all of his previous films, and with Johnson's own anxiously intense energy, it's easy to see him delivering one of cinema's greatest screen werewolves.

A teaser trailer for the film did recently screen at CinemaCon, reportedly showing Johnson's partial transformation in front of the moon, and though it hasn't yet made its way online, attendees had nothing but praise for Johnson in the part.

If Johnson makes the most of it, hopefully this is just the second of many collaborations between him and Eggers.
