1. War of the Worlds
Amazon's new screenlife take on War of the Worlds is quite arguably the worst film of the year and one of the worst films of the entire 2020s so far - a poorly crafted, laughably inept attempt to give a classic story a fresh coat of paint.
In the finale, surveillance expert Will (Ice Cube) manages to save the day after using code cooked up by his genius daughter Faith (Iman Benson) to shut down the surveillance system known as Goliath, in turn also wiping out the alien threat.
Here's the kicker, though - the code is delivered to Mark by Faith's Amazon delivery driver Mark (Devon Bostick), who uses an Amazon Prime Air delivery drone to get the flash drive to Will's location.
As on-the-nose product placements go, it's as nauseating as it is hilarious, and if that's not bad enough, the final scene is a toe-curlingly goofy photo montage of Will, Faith, Mark and co. celebrating Faith's baby shower.
It's rare to watch a film where almost every single artistic choice is the wrong one, and War of the Worlds 2025 maintains that course from first scene to woeful last.
