10 2010s Musicians Destined To Be One-Hit Wonders

8. Skip Marley

20-year-old Skip Marley had struck stardom with his feature on Katy Perry’s single Chained to the Rhythm. The tech-critical track was the lead single from Perry’s fifth album Witness. Quite like subsequent singles on Witness, Marley has sadly not had a follow-up hit.

The grandson of Bob Marley entered the public conscience with “It is my desire Break down the walls to connect, inspire, ay”, but we have not heard from him since.

An absent 2018 was followed by a 2019 collaboration with Major Lazer that also went nowhere chart-wise.

Another Perry collaboration is unlikely, and his singles as a solo artist have also gone nowhere. So unless his first studio album turns out to be an absolute cross-genre corker, don’t expect another hit from Skip in the 2020s.
