10 21st Century Rock/Metal Albums That Never Got A Sequel
1. ZOAX - ZOAX
Another casualty of that incredible UK underground scene of the 2000s and 2010s, ZOAX was a highly touted post-hardcore band emanating out of London. A Frankenstein’s monster of various underground bands (plus ex-Rise to Remain bassist Joe Copcutt), ZOAX set themselves onto a path of arty hardcore ala Letlive and Reuben.
A warmly received debut EP on legendary indie label Siege of Amida in 2014 earned them a call-up to parent label Century Media. From there, ZOAX released a follow-up EP the next year, before the steady stream of releases culminated (not that they would not know it) in 2016 with a criminally underrated self-titled debut album. Plaudits ensued, including from the likes of Biffy Clyro and WWE’s Baron Corbin, with ZOAX finding themselves on tour with the likes of Gallows, Funeral For a Friend, and Cancer Bats.
It all came to a head though in December 2017, where – after a year-long hiatus from touring – ZOAX announced they would disband. In the years since, Copcutt and vocalist Adam Carroll launched a short-lived trip hop project called The Gore Club, and Carroll has forged away in the world of podcasting.
