10 Albums By Famous Musicians That Were Scrapped Before Release
2. Pink Floyd Household Objects
Ever wanted to hear an album that featured not a single musical instrument? No? Well what if that album was recorded by Pink Floyd? Household Objects was to be a highly experimental follow-up to 1973's The Dark Side Of The Moon. The band planned to ditch their instruments (a symbolic gesture likely meant to mirror the disregarding of pressure and expectation to match the critical success of Dark Side). The album was instead to be recorded using a bunch of household objects (see what they did there?) including wine glasses, aerosol spray cans and rubber bands. According to the band themselves, a lot of time was spent just playing around with different items, making strange noises and rhythms. Two tracks from the band's recording sessions were released on the Wish You Were Here and The Dark Side Of The Moon Immersion Edition box sets, Wine Glasses and The Hard Way. Listening to the tracks, it's hard to believe they were recorded using not a single instrument, despite their rather primitive nature. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMPRfqQJJ_0
