10 Albums By Famous Musicians That Were Scrapped Before Release
3. Neil Young Homegrown
Homegrown is an album so close to release that it even had album artwork created (which must have really sucked for the artist). Just before it was released, however, Young decided what the hell and released Tonight's The Night instead. The album was to be incredibly personal, detailing the breakdown of his relationship with actress Carrie Snodgrass. Over twenty songs were recorded during the Homegrown sessions, including Homegrown (which was a tribute to hemp, of course), The Old Homestead (a bizarre allegorical tale) and Give Me Strength (a bitter-sweet song about the final breakdown of his relationship with Carrie Snodgrass). Nevertheless, nobody is quite sure which of these songs were meant for the final record, and when it was scrapped, we lost much hope of ever finding out.
