10 Albums By Famous Musicians That Were Scrapped Before Release
9. Bruce Springsteen Electric Nebraska
What's worse than an album scrapped half-way through? An album completely recorded and then scrapped. Bruce Springsteen's 1982 release Nebraska is a stark, bleak album that deals with everything from ordinary people to criminals and mass murderers. The album is notable for having a very closed, intimate sound, but this wasn't always the case. In fact, the tracks on the album were originally intended as demos of songs to be recorded with the E Street Band, but Springsteen ultimately decided to release the material himself. Electric Nebraska, then, is exactly that Nebraska but with full accompaniment from the E Street band. The entire album was recorded before Springsteen decided to go in a vastly different direction, but drummer Max Weinberg has described the unreleased material as hard-edged and killing.
