10 Albums Saved By Ridiculously Last Minute Changes

6. Dave Grohl And The Foos Start Again From Scratch - One By One

While the early 2000's seemed to be a good time to be the Foo Fighters, things were starting to crumble from within. When the band were not playing huge festivals, they were at each other's throats trying to flesh out the material for their next album One by One.

The tension between the members became so great that Dave Grohl even went on hiatus from the band and joined Queens of the Stone Age for a while to cool out. After returning and finding their place again, the band realized that all of the material that they had previously recorded was not nearly up to the standard they had set for themselves. With over a million dollars invested in the project, the band decided to throw everything away and start again from scratch.

Once everyone was on the same page, the feverish sessions came together in a matter of hours rather than the long months of nothing. The album was packed with songs like "Times Like These" as well as the live concert staple "All My Life," which Grohl explained was completed in a single afternoon in his basement.

The birthing process for this record may not have been joyous at first, but the band's last minute decision to scrap their original ideas seemed to have paid off in the long run.
