10 Albums Saved By Ridiculously Last Minute Changes

7. Blink-182 Writes Their Ultimate Summer Anthem - Take Off Your Pants And Jacket

Blink-182 had become everyone's favorite pop-punk outfit virtually overnight with the release of Enema of the State. The album's hits like "All the Small Things" and "What's My Age Again?" are still staples of people's childhoods and continue to resonate with adolescents to this day.

After tasting that first success, the band pumped out another helping of tracks that would become the basis for Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. With all of the songs in the can, the band sent the record company the finished album only to have it sent back to them. The complaint from the big-wigs seemed to be that there was no definitive summertime hit on the record that they could promote.

This caused both Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge to lash out in anger, with both of them going home to write the cheesiest songs they could as a form of revenge against their record company. Both songs ended up being the two most successful Blink songs ever released: "The Rock Show" and "First Date."

Sometimes the constant criticism of your music can be absolutely grating, but other times it may just be the push you need to produce some of your best work.
