10 Albums That You Need To Listen To More Than Once

5. Random Access Memories - Daft Punk

For anyone casual music fan, the entire genre of dance music might be a bit of a hurdle to jump over. After all, since there's no real words to the songs, how the hell are you supposed to say how great they are anyway? Well, it seems that the two resident androids from France had listened to that feedback and served up something classic for Random Access Memories.

Being the last proper album from Daft Punk, this is a dance album that is as much informed by the classic eras of pop as it is to its house credentials. Granted, it's not like the drawbacks of those genres have gone anywhere, with some of the songs being dominated by one repetitive phrase and having one song be put on pause for a full-on interview with Giorgio Moroder halfway through everything. That's not the way you should look at this kind of thing though.

Even with all of the repetition going into these tracks, this is the kind of the music that you let seep into your body and become a part of your DNA before being analyzed on any grand scale. Once it reaches your inner sense of rhythm, these songs have the potential to hit you right in the center of the chest while making you want to groove. See, now there's a good enough reason for why disco definitely doesn't suck.
