10 Amazing Covers Albums In Rock And Roll Music

6. The Spaghetti Incident - Guns N Roses

Once the Use Your Illusion tour came to an end, most of the classic lineup of Guns N Roses was being held together with string and duct tape. After having to kick out half the band during the rollout to the record, the line was drawn in the sand, with Axl Rose competing with everyone else in terms of where the band would go next. Though we wouldn't get any new material for decades, it was nice to have them close out the classic lineup's run with a couple of covers.

Granted, there are a few headscratchers on here, like when Axl decides that he's going to cover a song originally written by Charles Manson. For the most part though, these are the same kind of in-the-gutter rock and roll songs that Guns had probably grew up listening to, almost acting as a full version of the kind of covers that turned up on Live Like a Suicide. Keep in mind this isn't like the Live and Let Die cover either, as most of these songs are just updates on songs that fall more on the punk spectrum like FEAR and even a subtle nod to future legends Soundgarden by interpolating Big Dumb Sex into Buick Mackane.

It wasn't enough to save the band though, with most of the classic lineup leaving the band right around the time they contributed a cover of Sympathy for the Devil for a movie soundtrack. Given how volatile most of Guns N Roses could be at the best of times, we should consider ourselves lucky that this was what they closed out their career on.
