10 Amazing Hidden Tracks On Classic Albums
9. Suicide - Paul McCartney
Most of Paul McCartney's debut solo album wasn't really meant to be a proper album at first. This was just Paul messing around in the studio away from the Beatles as a way to blow off steam, with occasional magic coming to life like Maybe I'm Amazed. In between some of the jams though, there are also bits and pieces of what was in Macca's head at the time as well.
While tracks like the Lovely Linda and Oo You might seem fairly unfinished on the record, there's a brief snippet of a song in between the track list with the tentative title Suicide. Even though this is a blink or you'll miss it version on the album proper, the melody is a lot catchier than what we had already heard before, having a more gripping melody than something like That Would Be Something with the potential to be spruced up into a proper Beatles track if given the chance.
Paul had his eye set on someone else though, originally thinking that this would make a good song for Frank Sinatra to sing, only for him to be rejected by Old Blue Eyes almost immediately based on the song title alone. Considering the first Wings album would consist of nothing but jams for the first half of its runtime though, how the hell did this song never get to see the light of day instead?
